The Testimony of Integrity The testimony of integrity can be described as being fundamentally about honesty in action and intention. We are called to live with honesty and integrity, which may mean declining to tell falsehoods or behave in a way antithetical to our stated beliefs. Some choose to avoid sarcasm and other modes of misleading speech. This testimony is the basis of the famous Quaker refusal to swear to tell "the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth" in court; the logic being that someone who is truly following the will of God will speak nothing but the truth at all times, and swearing to do so in any particular circumstance implies otherwise. All these manifestations of integrity are supported by Scripture (though that is not necessarily the souce of some believers' conviction of integrity), as Christ preaches,
